About the Event

Location:   Fort Lowell Park, Tucson

Courses:

Park-O: About 3km of fun, fast, point-to-point orienteering

Explorer Course: Visit as many checkpoints as you can in 1 hour

Animal-O: spatial games for young kids (no map-reading necessary)

This event will have something for everyone, from ages 3 to 99! For the adults and big kids we'll have a park orienteering course that visits the entire park. For younger kids and adults looking for a gentler introduction to the sport, we'll have an explorer course option (do-as-much-as-you-want). And for the very youngest (3+) we'll have Animal Orienteering, a spatial game that doesn't require map reading at all.

This event is appropriate for orienteers of all skill levels! There will be instruction offered throughout the morning.

Maps:  Brand new map! We'll be using a new sprint-standard map of Fort Lowell Park.

Schedule:

⦁   8:45 am First beginner's clinic

⦁  9:00 am First chance to start any course

⦁   12:00 pm Last chance to start a long course

⦁   1:00 pm All courses close, controls retrieval begins

Registration:  Pre-registration is highly encouraged in order to keep an eye on crowd size and prepare the right number of maps.   See the "Fees" section below for information on coupon codes to use for member pricing.   Everyone must register as an individual even if you plan on going as a team.   See who has already signed up

Registration closes at midnight, Friday, January 21, 2022.
