About the Event

On Sunday Oct 8, 2023 come join us in midtown Tucson for a Street Score-O!

Location: The Garden District Neighborhood: north of Pima, south of Grant, between Swan and Alvernon.  This is a relatively flat area of Tucson with mature homes and yards.   The neighborhood is known as the Garden District because the Tucson Botanical Garden is within the neighborhood boundaries. The Street O will NOT include the Botanical Garden property but consider visiting the Garden after the event.

Directions and Parking: From the light at Columbus and Pima drive north 2 ½ blocks to the start at the school yard of JB Wright Elementary School, just east of Columbus.  Parking is available in the lot and on side streets.  GPS 32.24624°N 110.90123°W

Course: You can visit any or all of the approximately 30 controls as long as you are back within 90 minutes. You are not required to visit all the controls, so you can go as fast or as slow as you wish. Same course for both foot or bike. Runners and bikers can easily get them all. Walkers can probably get half or more. The course is appropriate for all skill levels, including beginners.

Question/Answer Clues instead of Punches: Instead of control markers and punches, at each control your clue sheet will ask a question, like a scavenger hunt. All you need to do is circle the correct answer based on the clue. There will be no riddles or tricks, the correct answer will be obvious if you are at the control.

Maps: The map will be a USGS orthophoto (like an aerial photograph).  Scale 1/4800.  Maps will be provided to all preregistered participants at the event site.
