About the Event

What hidden horrors lurk in Lincoln Park? Legends tell of the ghost of a poor orienteer who never found his last control. Will you save the wretched soul doomed to wander the desert until the end of eternity? Or will you join him?

Join Tucson Orienteering Club for a very special spooky Park-O on October 29th. Costumes encouraged. Candy will be provided.

Location:  Lincoln Park, 4325 S Pantano Rd, Tucson, AZ 85730

Courses:  All courses are Halloween themed in some way! White course is beginner friendly and has 8 controls. Yellow course is longer and a little more challenging than white. Orange course: mystery! Show up and run to find out.

Maps:  Maps will be provided to all participants at the event site. Scale is 1/4000.

Schedule:

  • 8:45am Free beginners’ clinic starts.  Please arrive 15 minutes early if you wish to attend.

  • 8:30am Check in.

  • 9:00am First chance to start.

  • 10:30am Last chance to start.

  • 12:30pm Courses close.

Registration: Pre-registration is required in order to keep an eye on crowd size and prepare the right number of maps.  See the "Fees" section below for information on coupon codes to use for member and junior pricing.  Everyone must register as an individual even if you plan on going as a team. See who has already signed up. Registration deadline is noon on Saturday, October 28th.

Directions and Parking:  Make sure you use the park entrance off Pantano, not Escalante. If you enter the above address in google maps, you should be directed to the right parking lot. CHANGED 29 OCT: We will be at the picnic tables along the paved path about 250m east of the parking area. There will be several Tucson Orienteering signs to help direct you.
