Free Clinic: Master the Orange Course

Let's get together for a free, members-only training opportunity, next Sunday, May 24th! 

Join Peg for an intermediate clinic using maps from the Lost One Standing event, in the Cave Creek area! The start is off Gardner Canyon Road, at the Apache Springs Trailhead.

Once we arrive at the trailhead, walk with Peg to one, two, or many controls while we practice intermediate skills: compass, pace count, checking off features, relocating, aiming off, whatever you want to work on. We will use portions of the Lost One Standing Rogaine map showing many of the controls, and the MapRun app (Map Run CheckSites code: 480601) to check our skills.

Since folks go at a variety of speeds, you are welcome to peel off and practice at a brisker pace by yourself whenever you like. You are also welcome to come run any of the classic courses used during Lost One! Check out the Practice page on our website for course options!

Please print desired maps at home for this training.

Let's meet to carpool at the Lamar Cobb Memorial (Exit 281, at I-10 & AZ Route 83). The carpool to the event site from there leaves at 6:30am. Be sure to arrive a bit early to set up Map Run while in cell phone range! If you live in midtown, contact Peg (520.628.8985) about arranging a carpool to the carpool. If carpooling, you must return to the cars at the trailhead by 9:30am. For safety's sake, we cannot leave until everyone is accounted for.
