Orienteer Any Time with UsynligO

Get UsynligO

UsynligO is a mobile app that allows you to orienteer confidently without control flags in the terrain. The app is available for iPhones and Androids. You can use it to go orienteer in a public park on a course that you haven’t run before, or even to re-run a course.

The first step is download the app from the appropriate app store. Make sure you give the app permission to track location at all times (at least when you are using it to orienteer). This guide from Cascade Orienteering Club has some more tips on setting up the app for the best experience.

Print Your Map

Look on Livelox for the event and course that you’d like to run. Once you’re on the Replay page for that course, click on the small hamburger menu on the left side of the screen, and then “Download map”. You can of course skip this step if you already have the map.

Load Your Course

Once you have a map you’ll need to go into the UsynligO app and load the course. Once you’ve logged into the app you’ll see a few options on the main screen. Tap on “Livelox events”, which lets you search for a course amongst all of the courses published on Livelox. Here I’ve set my search to find all events in the last 30 days that are less than 50km from me.

Load the course you have the map for and follow the directions!
