Palo Verde Park Neighborhood Street-O, Sunday, April 23, 2023,  By Peg Davis

What a beautiful day for an in-town meet featuring lovely weather! I was very pleased to have 40 participants strolling the curvy confusing streets of this East Side neighborhood. And 8/9 of the controls were correct! Too bad that one guy took his RV out for the weekend, though.

This was a banner event for kids out on the course. Lily Sierra kindly took her father out, but I forgot to tell her about the time limit. The Tucson Flamingos did their second Street-O and all six kids came into the finish looking like champs. Once again, families made up a large number of participants.

Thanks to anybody named Lubis, McLean, Beard or Pimienta for boosting our numbers. Our Spring Street-O fad seems to be maintaining its popularity. This is a wonderful meet format to try out course setting or meet directing. I am happy to provide guidance and encouragement to anyone who wants to give it a try. Except for Jeff Brucker's technical expertise producing the map (thanks so much, Jeff !), I ran this event by myself, so how hard can it be?
