A good crowd of Tucson Orienteering Club members headed to the beautiful Empire Ranch for a free set of classic courses in the grasslands. The grasses were not seedless for this late November outing, but they were far less vicious than the course setter had feared. In addition to photosynthesizing organisms, participants were also treated to sightings of a pronghorn herd, a squadron of javelinas, and a baby rattlesnake. It is unknown if anyone had the trifecta.
