Sunday's event at Catalina State Park welcomed the return of the Peg Race, a mass start, point-to-point course with a fun twist! In this peg race, several of the controls have clothespins, or "pegs", attached to the flags. If there's a peg at a control, you take the peg and then must proceed to the previous control before going on to the next. If you were one of the first people to the second control, you would take a peg and then run back to the first control before proceeding to the third control. Do this a few times and run hard in between and your brain may have trouble keeping up! 

Today's winner was Isaac Pimienta, coming in just with 11 pegs after almost 53 minutes. Our local hero had battled with Mark Prior of SDO for the second half of the course, only for Mark to accidentally skip control 17 in his hurry to get to the final control ahead of Isaac. Marcy Beard was the top woman on the course, and second over all, with 10 pegs in just over an hour.
