Jeff Brucker’s new map gave runners a fresh look at Thomas Jay Park, turning a lesser-known spot into a fun and memorable venue for a summer event.

With June heat in the forecast, runners got an early 7 a.m. start and enjoyed a fast, flat course before temperatures climbed. MapRun once again proved to be a perfect summer format: because there are no physical controls to set out or retrieve, it is easy to offer quick, local morning events.  Best of all, the format keeps the fun going — anyone who missed the hosted event on June 7 still has through June 28 to run the course and upload results electronically.

Update:  Jeff and Nancy Coker did the course on June 28. Jeff overtook first place with a time of 17:40.
